The COX Hydrometer Well is a high-accuracy instrument for determining the specific gravity of liquids by means of the flotation of a precision hydrometer bulb in a glass enclosure.
The Type 3 Hydrometer Well is easy to install—requiring simply a rectangular panel cut-out and a 1/4" tapped hole.
Removal of the instrument for cleaning or changing bulbs requires only the removal of one thumb screw. Bulbs can be changed in a matter of seconds. “O” ring seals are used in the new Indicator and all metal parts in contact with the fluid are of stainless steel. Inlet, vent and drain connections are 1/4" NPTI threads. The hydrometer bulb is guided in the enclosure so that the scale is always centered for ease of reading. Hydrometer bulbs, with integral 1% mercury thermometer, are available to cover a wide range of gravities.
